As a former Navy medic, he’s trained to expect the unexpected. Still, nothing could have prepared him for the five a.m. phone call that throws his world into chaos. Now he has a dead body in his nightclub, and the only woman he’s ever wanted for his own is investigating him.

The clock is ticking.

Within forty-eight hours, another body shows up. No one has an alibi, but neither do they have a motive. Fellow FBI Agent Cruz Livingston and San Antonio Medical Examiner Calder Stonewall are just as in the dark as everyone else. Francesca is being bombarded left and right with her past and her present, both of which could affect her future.
